RecycloBot

Project Objective

The goal was to create a double-sided instruction sheet that’s both informative and visually engaging. One side would feature a poster-style photograph with environmental factoids and the logo we created, and the other would have the step-by-step assembly instructions. The robot is designed for kids aged 6-10 and focuses on teaching them about recycling in a fun way.

Photographing the RecycloBot

Taking the right photo was key to making the instruction sheet engaging. Here’s how I approached it:

  • Lighting: Made sure the photo was well-lit.
  • Background: Background was kept simple and clean to avoid distractions. Added in some daily lights for fun.
  • Composition: The Recyclobot was the main element of the photo.
  • Editing: After taking the photo, I cropped it, cleaned up any sensor dirt, and adjusted the white balance to make sure it looked perfect.

Requirements

To start, I needed to get a clear understanding of the project requirements:

  • Front Page (Poster):
    • A fun and clean photograph of the Recyclobot.
    • The brand logo.
    • Three recycling or environmental factoids.
  • Back Page (Instructions):
    • Inventory list of what’s included in the box.
    • List of other materials needed.
    • Step-by-step instructions for assembling the robot.
  • Design Style: It had to be fun, easy to follow

Conclusion

The final design is vibrant, fun, and easy to follow, perfect for kids aged 6-10. The combination of a fun photograph, engaging factoids, and clear instructions ensures that assembling the Recyclobot is a great experience for children while also promoting environmental awareness.
